OUR STORY

From our first puppy until now, Joslyn Frenchie started with a promise to provide the best home raised puppies to forever homes.

OUR STORY

Our dogs hold a special place in our hearts, and we genuinely cherish their presence in our lives. For years, we have dedicated ourselves to the upbringing, grooming, and training of dogs, and we find immense joy in our chosen path.

Every single one of our puppies receives individual attention and care within the comfort of our home. We prioritize their socialization by exposing them to our children, as well as other dogs and pets, ensuring they develop into well-rounded companions for your family. When selecting our breeding dogs, we take great care in considering their temperament, beauty, and overall health. This careful selection process helps us maintain the quality of their offspring, guaranteeing wonderful additions to your family.

To ensure our dogs are in optimal health, we provide them with high-quality nutrition, supplements, vaccinations, and administer Revolution as needed. We prioritize their well-being and strive to keep them in the best possible condition.

It’s important to note that we are not a kennel. Rather, our dogs live with us in our home or with their guardian family. We have structured our breeding program in this manner because we firmly believe that our dogs should first and foremost be cherished members of our own families.

When it comes to breeding French Bulldog puppies, we adhere to these principles and practices, ensuring that each puppy receives the love, care, and attention they deserve.

About the Breeder

Hi, I’m Joslyn McCormick and I would like to tell you a bit about myself. First, I am the mother of 2 beautiful girls and a son and i value all things “family”. Dogs and animals have always been a part of my family since I was young and I have always enjoyed working with them.

During highschool, I worked part time at pet food store and was a kennel attendant at a veterinary clinic. I graduated from the University of Guelph and was soon working in a vet clinic. I enjoyed all aspects of the clinic, but working with the groomer and grooming was my favourite, one of my passions was born.
I also worked as the manager of a major pet food chain store where my knowledge of pet nutrition and the pet industry was further expanded. I worked with many rescue organizations, shelters and charities.
Eventually, I started my own grooming business which I still do to this day.

I was then introduced to training and obedience by a friend. I started training puppies for a local breeder. It felt good, after all, a well behaved, well mannered dog is less likely to end up in a shelter. I loved watching their owners enjoy their new puppy. I started working part time at the kennel I was training for and became very interested in the breeding aspect, thus another passion was born.

Why Breed Dachshund

As a groomer, I was fascinated by all the different doodles that I saw on my table. The more I researched, the more interested I became. How did the breeder get that colour? What breed characteristics did this doodle inherit from the poodle? Why is this doodle favourable and this one is not? Is it all in the genes or in the environment? Why does this one have a curly coat and the other doesn’t? Looking into all these questions, I realized there is very much a science to all of it. A right way and a wrong way. A way to breed healthy, well tempered, good looking doodles and a way to produce disasters.
Sadly, the more involved I became, the more I realized the amount of negativey that surrounds the doodle world. Why? Because people figured out how desired these dogs are. ‘Breeders’ just throw together any two dogs they can get their hands on and breed them creating litters without any research of the health and genetics of the parents and therefore the puppies produced. Not to mention the conditions the dogs are kept in. Housing them in unheated, filthy, confined conditions and nevermind getting the attention and exercise that they deserve. The dogs are overbred, neglected or even abused. The result? Puppies with hip dysplasia, eye problems, hearing problems, heart defects, viral infections, parasites etc. How can they get away with this? Simple. Because people buy them. The new owners are so fooled by those incredibly cute puppy eyes that they don’t care and they choose to support these breeders by purchasing that puppy anyway. No wonder there is such bad publicy concerning this topic! This has happened to such an extent that Wally Conron, the creator of the Labradoodle, himself regrets even doing so because of the industry it has created.
I want to be able to look every buyer in the eye and tell them everything has been done to the best of my ability to produce healthy offspring and that the puppies are raised in a clean, positive, family setting. Every dog has to pass all their health clearances and temperment assessment before they are bred. I decided against a kennel, instead placing all our dogs with loving families from puppyhood. Every dog receives premium nutrition, regular socializing, positive reinforced training, regular grooming and veterinary appointments.
